During the Turkish occupation Argalasti was the main trade centre of Pelion. This resulted in it being very prosperous and developing into a cultural and intelligent centre as well. You will also be amazed with the belfry of the church of Agioi Apostolis, which is very tall (45m) and was made from marble by local workmen in 1914.
